Deviation Actions
Deviants of all skill levels are invited to join FrightClub - the cupboard that skeletons hide in, the shadowy bit under the bed, the wound you stick your fingers in to stop the bleeding - in our official launch event, our first horror photography and critique contest! It's a little different from most contests so please read on to find out how to enter.
The Basics
This contest is ONLY open to members of FrightClub
To become a member, go to the group page, click Join Our Group, wait to be approved and then the dirty deed is done.
Photography entries MUST be from the Photography >> Horror & Macbre category on dA, and must have been submitted to dA no earlier than the start of March '10.
NOW CHOOSE YOUR SKILL LEVEL
You may only enter the photography section ONCE. There are TWO galleries at the group, of which you must choose ONE as the most appropriate gallery for your contest entry. They are:
Fresh Meat, for people taking their first steps into horror who would feel more comfortable entering the contest with other artists who aren't super-experienced in horror photography. People who enter at this level may be new to photography, new to dark art in general, or both.
Rotting Corpses, for more experienced horror photographers who enjoy the challenge of entering the contest alongside other artists who have been around the creepy unlit block of horror photography.
ABOUT SELECTING THE RIGHT GALLERY
Please choose your gallery honestly, based on your own feelings about your work as well as the opinions of people you trust who you've shared your work with. There is no realistic way to fairly draw a link between the two groups. Believe me, I have tried, for ages, along with the help of all the people who answered the polls and bounced ideas back and forth in lots of comments. If you want to enter, you have to pick a gallery. So there

You are invited to write a thoughtful and constructive critique, of at least 100 words, on ANY of the photographic entries. This can be written in the Critique box or as a regular comment.
You can critique as many photographs as you like but you must choose ONE critique to enter in the contest. Please leave a link to the deviation you critiqued and a link to your actual critique in the comments of this blog entry.
You must include this text at the end of your critique:
This is my entry in #FrightClub's Critique Contest

The Good Stuff

$30 of deviantCASH for the winners in each section!
That means $30 EACH for the winners of Fresh Meat, Rotting Corpses and Critiquing.
Prizes CAN be donated to secondary accounts and other deviants.
Rules and Guidelines
You may only enter the photography section ONCE.
You CANNOT enter photography work in both galleries. Pick one gallery. Enter one deviation.
You CAN ONLY submit photographs to the photography section of the contest. This means following dA's definition of photography and, cause I like to be inclusive, DOES include HDR, panoramas and darkroom, digital and traditional.
Entries can come from photographers, models, effects artists but please don't all submit the same picture.
Photography entries MUST have been submitted to dA since 1st March 2010. It would be awesome if everyone created something specifically for this contest, but the limit at least means that anything entered in the contest should be indicative of your current skill level.
Critiques can be written, by ANYONE, in the regular comment box on deviation pages. This means that all of you - subscribed or not - can take part.
While you are welcome, and encouraged, to enter both the photography section AND the critique section of the contest, you can only win once.
You MUST have the copy-pasta-able bits of text (mentioned above) in your artists comments for the deviation that you wish to enter.
Anyone who is a member of FrightClub can enter - member, subscriber, senior member, volunteers (mn@ and GMs) - except people who are judging the contest.
If you get stuck with anything, send me a note and I'll do my best to help. Please don't ask me which skill level you should enter at though, cause I'm not going to tell you - get to know your art in a wider context and take the plunge! Submitting to the Rotting Corpses gallery doesn't make you arrogant just as submitting to the Fresh Meat gallery doesn't make you untalented.
Rules Reminder
Again: This is a Stock and Resources group. We will not accept your traditional art, digital art, photography or literature. Please read the rules. And really, the NAME of the group suggests what we accept.
I'm sorry for having to post this, the name of the group should honestly give off exactly what kind of collection material we are looking for, but apparently not.
We accept STOCK & RESOURCES ONLY.
Other stuff, like art, photos and such will be declined. It is nothing personal. Your work is fantastic but if it is not in the stock and resource gallery, it will not be accepted.
You can read the rules here.
Thank you;

I hate to do this....
But i do have to bring to light something that came to my attention last night. Someone on dA is an art thief. okay, so how often have you heard those words? too many times.
Reasons why so many stockers are becoming "exclusive" and charging an arm and a leg for their stock. I'm appalled. I've even started helping try to find all the stock that she's claiming as her own on her manipulations. which she's been classifying as "photography"
!justalittleknotty2 (https://www.deviantart.com/justalittleknotty2) brought this out in her journal...i told her i'd help pass it along. It is our responsibility as stock suppliers to help protect other stock suppliers out there. So please, read up on
